Let's Explore

Who wants to go for a morning walk with me? Jim got wrapped up in a good book last night and he needs more sleep so it's just you and me.
Instead of the marina we are going to head east
first peek at a small inlet
Side road to M Harbor, this could be interesting
note its uphill even though we are going to lake level
M dock
A side road to Wilson Cove, sounds interesting
I am not sure if these docks are always here at the end of the cove
or if they get moored elsewhere in the summer.
This looks like to be a permanent camper set up down
here at Wilson's Cove. It has electric and water,
a nice view and fire pit. Sweet
The spa is this way for those looking to be treated
to all the niceties of spa life.
It's another uphill climb,
we are getting a good workout here.
Some rentable cabins nestled in the woods.
Well that was a nice surprise.
I was able to video this because I heard some
rustling in the woods and pulled out my camera
ready for some action, and voila.
Some more rentable cabins, not so nestled in the trees.
A workout course, nice.
Station one, leg warm up
I think my legs are already warmed up by now.
Here is the Turtle Cove Spa, there is a pool
under the cross walk.
Let's go see the dock here.
Well this path led to nowhere.
The dock seems to have been moved off the path
and down the inlet a bit.
More rentable cabins across the inlet.
Currently it feels like Jim & I are here with the staff.
There are a few other people here but this place is huge (900 acres).
I am not sure how busy it is in mid summer if all the cabins are full.
A park area, I think I can skip the horse shoe pits
been there done that at the pits by our campsite.
Now a beach, that sounds good.
Jim and I were here the other day.
Ah we have stumble upon work out station 2
Upper Body Workout.
Okay, be kind, the next video may remind you of
the Blair Witch Project, the camera work is awful.
I am not the best at photography.
But I wanted to share this little surprise from the trail.
What a nice surprise.
Sunset wilderness beach more trees than sand
but no complaints here.
A fire ring if you care to warm up a bit.
A look back at the marina area where I usually walk.
And we have stumbled upon workout station 3
Core Strength, if you would like to do some sit ups here
or yoga, I will wait for you.
So, you think Sunset Wilderness Beach is nice
but you want something larger and more private
than you can rent out East Pavillion
Beautiful views off the end of the peninsula
and a covered area with electricity and bath rooms.
A stone lined path
that leads to a large fire pit complete with stacked firewood
Across the bay I spy a houseboat being pulled out of the water
that looks like a big job.
Another side road, this one goes to HB docks,
can you guess what is at the HB docks?
Houseboats, that is what HB dock docks.
Each houseboat slip comes with a patio area
I guess some of these boats spend more time in their slip
than out on the water. The gas bill probably adds up.
But if you do go out on the water you still have the patio
on the end of your boat to enjoy.
This owner chose to park his golf cart in his patio area.
I guess some people prefer to drive around rather than walk.
Go figure.
Not - A - Care
I have a new favorite boat name.
Back on the road again, I spy more tennis courts.
This court is flatter than the one by our campsite
but it doesn't have the views that ours does.
Thank goodness for all the signs around here
the twisty roads can get confusing.
Here is a lot that I believe is private property.
A trailer, a boat, an ATV, lots of toys, people here have toys.
The other reason I took this picture is to show the burnt trough.
It seems to be a thing around here to gather your leaves together
and then burn them right on the ground. It's crazy, we drove by a nice house
that had at least 4 piles of leaves burning in their front yard at once.
Well that concludes today's walk.
Thanks for joining me, I had a good time, hope you did to.
I encourage everyone to put on a coat and get outside this weekend.
Opt Out, go to a forest preserve, go to a state park, go to Indiana Dunes,
go around the block. It will make you feel good.
I was hoping HB dock meant there was a Hof Brau house.
ReplyDeleteHikes with beer stops are the best.
That was a nice long walk this morning, big place.
