Today we left Yosemite via the twisty highway 120

Going downhill on the inside was much easier than going uphill on the outside on our way to Yosemite.

We drove past a busy port in Oakland, CA.

And this is as close to the Golden Gate bridge we will get on this trip.  It's in the foggy background.

Tonight's destination is Nelson Family Vineyard in Ukiah, CA

Our beautiful spot for the night 

We are the only ones here, so plenty of peace and quiet.

We are looking out into the vineyards.

There are cows on the property as it is a working farm, vineyard and orchard.

And of course, a tasting room.

Best of all we were joined by Sarah & Mike

Behind us are 33 year old redwood trees and the cabernet vineyard.

What are Sarah & Finn looking at . . .

They are looking at this noisy little frog who was croaking at some frogs in the drains of the pool room.

We sat in the pool room.  The rocks filled in the old pool of the house that is now part of the tasting room.  The diving board is still in the corner as well as the stairs to get out of the pool.  It was a nice indoor/outdoor room to have the wine tasting.  

Finn was happy to be here.

And Jim was happy that Finn was here too.

We ate a delicious dinner in the RV before Mike & Sarah had to go back home.

Shrimp fired rice, egg rolls and shrimp gyoza.

It was great to see them before they head to Texas.

April 8, 2021

Today we drove north on highway 101 amidst the pine trees. 

We had a short hold up for some tree trimming along the highway.

We crossed the Eel River as is snaked alongside us for miles.

In Orick, CA we got a peak at the Pacific Ocean.

And then more beautiful pines

Before arriving at our campground on the Klamath River.

There is a community firepit on the shore of the Klamath River.

Individual fires at your site are not allowed.

The wildflowers here are like little daisies.

Our campsite has a clear view of the river and a generous side area.

Everyone here has been very nice.
