Things Happen
(1) December 4, 2020 Don't get Deflated
Leaving for the final leg to Galveston we noticed the back left tire was low,
because the tire gauge system told us it was at 54 PSI instead of 80 PSI.
Jim filled the tire up and we drove without incident to Galveston.
When we arrived at our spot on Galveston Island
I noticed a screw in the back left tire.
Well that explains the low tire pressure.
On Saturday Jim pulled out the spare and filled it up.
Jacked up the RV and changed the original
tire with the spare.
We drove off to the Galveston Firestone with the tire.
Asked them to fix the tire with the screw in it and rotate the truck tires.
No need to sit here, let's go someplace local for lunch.
Okay so it's not a shack, but a food truck.
The reviews on line are good so we give it a try.
10 Breaded Shrimp with hush puppies.
Jim had Sweet Flaming Barbecue while
I had Coconut Shrimp. Both were great.
Hush puppies a side from the south, what's not to like.
We walk back to Firestone and find out that the
screw is too close to the edge of the tire to successfully patch.
We needed a new tire. Firestone did not have a Goodyear
and that is what we wanted to match the other tires on the trailer.
So we pay our $10 for the tire rotation and head to Wal-Mart.
I was happy to find out that a tire rotation is only $10.
Fortunately Wal-Mart is nearby and has our tire.
Unfortunately, they have a long wait so we
drop off the tire so they can put the new tire on the wheel.
We pick it up on Saturday.
It is not the tire we asked for, it is the size we asked for,
but it is not a Good Year tire. Jim mentions it was supposed to
be a Goodyear tire and the mechanic replies, this is the only kind we sell.
Not good communication yesterday by the salesmen.
We take the tire home.
(2) Separate but Together
I was able to remotely get together with my sisters and
you tube the "Nice List" together while each sister decorated
their tree at home.
Here is my lone poinsettia at the start.
The "Nice List" on the tv screen, we recommend for small children.
Margie's sparkling tree.
Cathy's tree.
Marianne's tree accented by 23" of snow in Cleveland.
My little poinsettia with a couple of shells
I found on the beach and gifts for Feast of
St Nicholas. Jim got the Cadbury I got the Lindt.
I guess we were good this year.
Enhanced the decorations with a trip to Dollar Tree
That's it, minimal decorations for our minimal space.
December 5, 2020
Let's go for a walk on the beach.
Clouds in the morning are clearing
Spotted some guys learning to parasail.
Blue skies over land so bright I need a white filter.
Walked west all the way to the western end of the island
(7.3 miles roundtrip)
Clouds moving out over the Gulf
Sunset
Life is pretty easy going here, nice, very nice.
Catch ya later.
What a tiring experience. But a chance to do early holiday wishes? Have a Good year!
ReplyDeletewow your friend got all the puns in with their comment :o). Glad to hear the tire was replaced and you were able to visit with your sisters. Life continues to be good. Martha
ReplyDeleteMerry seasonal decorating for the RV (and no storage required), love it!
ReplyDeleteIs that a Whataburger parasail? Mmm. Mmm.
ReplyDeleteIt could be, they do have Whataburgers down here. We have yet to have one.
DeletePost Script, on Monday we switched the wheel and tire, so now we have all Goodyears on the trailer and the spare is the Wal-Mart tire.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear your were able to put this little episode in your rear view mirror.
